Looking back, some of the best chapters of my life began with a simple yes.
Yes to leaving the familiar. Yes to new countries, new cultures and new people. Yes to taking risks, even without knowing the outcome.
The yes that started Live Learning
In 2005, I said yes to starting Live Learning, with more passion than certainty. Twenty years later, we have delivered in over 40 countries, met thousands of wonderful people and learned countless lessons along the way.
Has everything gone to plan? Absolutely not. Would I change the journey? Not a chance.
Courage starts with the heart
The word courage has its roots in the Latin cor, meaning heart, or cœur in French. I love that connection.
Courage isn’t necessarily about being fearless. It’s about having the heart to step into the unknown, to embrace uncertainty and to give things a go, even when your head is telling you otherwise.
Work out the how along the way
You don’t need to have it all figured out before taking the next step. Sometimes courage is simply saying yes and working out the how as you go.
So say yes more often. Life has a funny way of rewarding the curious and the courageous. We only get one life, so let’s not spend it wondering. The courageous may not live forever, but the cautious don’t live at all.
